Introduction

This page is concerned with the group of World War Two medals awarded to a former soldier who became a Beefeater at the Tower of London. The group also contains medals for service in conflicts that occurred after the end of the Second World War.

Frederick Harold Crozier

Frederick Harold Crozier joined the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers in 1942 and in 1944 transferring to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps (RAOC) in which he reached the rank of Warrant Officer. His 21 years in the RAOC took him to many overseas postings. He was with Advanced Ordnance Depots of the British Liberation Army in Europe and later with units of the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR). In the Middle East he went to the Sudan, Eritrea and Egypt. In the Far East he worked in Malaya and Singapore, and in Brunei where he received a MID. His last two postings in the RAOC were at Central Ammunition Depot Kineton and Headquarters Army Emergency Reserve RAOC.Crozier retired from the Army on 31 March 1965.

The next day, 1 April 1965, Mr. F.H. Crozier was sworn-in as a Yeoman Warder of Her Majesty's Tower of London.
