IntroductionThis section of the web site provides an example of a group of medals that has been awarded to an actual person. All of these examples illustrate the point that behind a medal is an individual person. The ExamplesTo illustrate some of the medals that are covered elsewhere on this web site, I have chosen a group of medals that were awarded to an actual person. The first group that I have chosen is a medal to a member of "E" Battery, "B" Brigade Royal Horse Artillery who was present at the Battle of Maiwand. The second group that I have chosen is a World War One gallantry group, where the recipient died before receiving his medals. The third group that I have chosen, the person concerned served during World War Two, postings to Malaya and Borneo, before becoming a Yeoman Warder at the Tower of London. For more
