These are
all the records which I have found at the PRO
and I have found useful. I have not had the chance to examine anywhere
near all of them. They should prove a useful starting point for anyone
else. As I work my way through these records, I will update this site.
The records
have been grouped under their group and class document reference. Within
each table, the column in bold shows the piece number. The complete
document reference is constructed by adding the group, class and piece
items together. An example would be PCOM 9/1117, which deals with the
execution of John Amery.
The class
lists for all the documents contained in the PRO can now be searched online
at the PRO web site.
I would also
like to thank all the staff at the Public Record Office for the work they
do in preserving this country's records, and making them available to
members of the public.
